16,000 square foot center expected to provide family-oriented care to nearly 40,000 patients per year

Roseville, Calif. – WellSpace Health (WellSpace) cut the ribbon on its new Community Health Center in Roseville. At 16,000 square feet, the Community Health Center will provide outpatient primary care, pediatrics, women’s health, behavioral health, and dental care, with a focus on family-oriented care. This new health center is expected to serve nearly 40,000 patients each year.

“Our mission is achieving regional health through high-quality, comprehensive care and we believe that to do this, everyone must have access,” said Dr. Jonathan Porteus, Chief Executive Officer of WellSpace Health. “The new Placer Community Health Center will help expand that access to residents throughout Placer County and other nearby communities.”

The Health Center will also be home to an innovative OB/GYN Residency Program in partnership with longtime partner Sutter Health, where doctors from Sutter Roseville Medical Center will rotate through WellSpace’s Women’s Health program helping to bridge the gap for women who will deliver babies at the hospital.

“Sutter Roseville Medical Center shares our dedication to the improved health of Placer County,” said Porteus. “This partnership is an opportunity to strengthen our commitment to the best care for all of our patients while also shaping the next generation of physicians to better understand and serve the diverse needs of our communities.”

“The opening of the Placer Community Health Center is a win-win, for patients, who will have access to trusted, high-quality care closer to home, and for the next generation of physicians, who gain valuable experience supporting patients preparing to deliver at Sutter Roseville Medical Center through our OB/GYN Residency Program,” said Rachael McKinney, president of the Greater Sacramento Division of Sutter Health, which invested $2.9 million toward the Health Center’s construction. “Together with WellSpace Health, we’re investing in healthier futures for Placer County residents and our caregivers.”

“The new WellSpace Health facility will fill a huge need in the community by providing much-needed care to people who otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford it,” said Representative Kevin Kiley, whose district includes all of Placer County. “Thank you to everyone in the community who helped bring this facility to Roseville, and I look forward to the positive impact it will have on the community.”

WellSpace serves more than 1,400 patients each day throughout its 30+ locations in the greater Sacramento Region. More than 90% of the patients seen are low-income and 85% are covered by Medi-Cal. Nearly 20% of Placer County residents are Medi-Cal recipients[1].

Placer Community Health Center adds to two health centers already operated by WellSpace in Roseville, one at 5 Medical Plaza Drive on the Sutter Health campus and another at Sierra Gardens. The new location, located at 100 Stonehouse Court, allows WellSpace to deliver local care to more patients. The first patients will be seen in early October and hours of operation will be Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
