Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA)

WellSpace Health a 501 (c)3 non-profit community-based Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) deemed status, is a carefully braided amalgam of vital health, behavioral health, and social service delivery agencies that have served the Sacramento region for 65 years. In the last decade WellSpace Health has embraced the vision of replacing the ‘safety net’ with a ‘blanket of care,’ transitioned its free clinic into FTCA- and Public Health Service (PHS) deemed FQHCs, and established a robust network of Community Health Centers and behavioral health programs throughout the region with over 60,000 persons served in 2017 alone.

Forged through partnership and collaboration, our service spectrum includes primary health care for all ages, integrated and specialty behavioral health services, pediatric dental care, women’s health, and an array of care transition and prevention programs including street- and home-based services as well as Northern California’s primary suicide prevention line. With deep roots through multiple founding community-based organizations, the nation’s highest health accreditation standards for ambulatory and behavioral health care as well as the Patient-Centered Medical Home model, and an integrated care practice creating linkage and care fusion across the organization, WellSpace Health has emerged as the preeminent force for good serving the region’s least fortunate.
